Unlike digital printing, litho isn’t limited to CMYK (four-colour process). Litho printers can work with Pantone spot colours for precise brand matching, plus metallic and fluorescent inks. Specialist coatings and varnishes can be applied to protect and add a unique finish for impact.

Paper choice is broad, from 70gsm up to 500gsm, across coated, uncoated and textured stocks. That means you can get the look and feel you want, with no compromises. As quantities go up, the price per unit comes down—making litho best value for bigger orders.

    Litho (lithographic) printing is a high‑quality print process. Your artwork is transferred to metal plates, inked, then “offset” via a rubber blanket onto paper. It’s fast, consistent and cost‑effective for medium to large runs. It’s ideal for brand colours, fine detail and premium finishes.

  • What is offset litho printing?

    It’s the same thing. “Offset” simply describes how the image is transferred from the plate to a rubber blanket, then onto the paper. Most people shorten it to “litho”.

    Yes. I’ll recommend papers and boards to suit your brand, budget and use—coated, uncoated, recycled and FSC‑certified options. I’ll also advise on weights and textures, and when to add seals or laminates for durability. Samples are available on request.

    Yes. I arrange delivery across Essex and the UK, with plain packing, split deliveries and fast-track timed options available.

  • What finishing and binding options do you offer?

    All the essentials and the extras that make a difference:

    • Laminations: matt, gloss and soft‑touch
    • Special finishes: spot UV, foiling, embossing and die‑cutting
    • Binding: saddle‑stitched, perfect bound and PUR bound
    • Plus the details: creasing, folding, drilling, collating, numbering and sealing for quicker handling.

  • What do you need from me to start?

    Your brief, quantities, sizes, preferred stock/finishes (if known) and deadlines. If you have artwork, send high‑res print‑ready PDFs with 3mm bleed and crop marks. Supply colours as CMYK or provide Pantone refs for spot colours. I’ll preflight files and flag any issues before we go to press.

  • Can you help with my artwork and design?

    Yes—this is where I add real value. I can design from scratch or fix supplied files. I’ll set up colours correctly for litho, prepare accurate dielines, manage ink coverage, and build clean, readable layouts. You’ll get clear proofs and costs before anything goes to press. Design is quoted separately on a fixed‑fee or hourly basis, whichever suits your project.

Had a great experience with DesignFX

After using AI to brainstorm a few ideas myself, I sent my thinking to Natalie. She took the time to fully understand the business, my market and customer base. She also listened to my early ideas on the type of illustrated logo I was looking for.

What Natalie created exemplified the kind of image I was going for. She had really taken onboard everything I'd said but also had the creative confidence to offer alternatives to some of my more undefined ideas to produce something better than I had hoped for.

If you're looking for a logo that covers the basics then AI can often give you what you need. But if your brand really matters to you, and you're looking for something that reflects you and the image you want to present, then it really pays off to go with a creative designer.
