A good logo needs to do more than look good on screen. It needs to work at different sizes and across everything from websites and social media to business cards, signage, clothing and print.

Your logo is an important part of building a recognisable brand, and many businesses now begin their branding journey by experimenting with AI design tools, Canva or online logo generators – and that’s absolutely fine as a starting point.

However, these platforms often provide limited file formats that aren’t suitable for professional printing, large-scale signage, branded clothing or future editing. If you already have a logo concept you love but need it refined, redrawn or prepared correctly for real-world use, I can help.

I offer a fast turnaround. Initial concepts are typically supplied within 2–3 working days, with a range of logo design packages to suit different requirements and levels of creative input.

One size definitely doesn’t fit all

I’ve been designing custom logos from my home studio in Colchester, Essex for over 30 years, and one thing I’ve learnt is that every business is different – which is why I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to logo design.

From simple, modern identities through to more detailed illustrated designs, every logo is created using Adobe Illustrator, with the final artwork prepared in the appropriate formats for both print and digital use.

I follow a straightforward logo design process

I like to keep things simple. Once you’ve chosen your package, I’ll send you my logo design brief so I can learn more about your business, your ideas, the styles you like – and anything you definitely don’t! I’ll then work directly with you through the concept and revision stages until we arrive at a logo you’re genuinely excited to use.

Designing your logo…

Your brief gives me the starting point for the initial concepts included in your package. From there, we’ll refine your preferred direction together – exploring ideas, making changes and developing the design until everything feels right.

What will you receive?

Once your new logo is approved, I’ll prepare the final artwork for you in the appropriate formats for print and digital use. This includes fully scalable vector artwork, so your logo can be reproduced from something as small as a business card to large-format signage without losing quality.

I’ll also supply your logo in AI, EPS, PDF, SVG, JPEG and PNG formats, together with a square social media profile image and icon version where appropriate.

You’ll also receive my Logo Design Guide and File Type Guide, so you’re not left staring at a folder full of different files wondering which one you’re supposed to use!

Need more than just a logo?

Once your visual identity has been established, I can help carry it through to business cards, corporate stationery, brochures and catalogues, websites, social media graphics and exhibition materials, making sure the design works properly across both print and digital applications.

Keeping everything visually connected helps your business look more considered and recognisable, whether someone sees your branding on a screen, in print, at an event or on a piece of stationery. I can build on the colours, typography and style established in your logo so everything feels like it belongs together rather than being designed in isolation.

I can also manage the printing for you, advising on suitable stocks, finishes and production options, liaising with my trusted print suppliers and arranging delivery of the finished job.

What is logo design?

It’s the bread to your branding butter! Logo design is about creating a recognisable visual identity for your business, usually combining typography, colour and graphic elements in a way that can be used across your wider branding.

Your logo then becomes the visual starting point for everything from business cards and print to your website, social media, signage and other marketing materials.
Why is logo design important for a business?

Your logo is often one of the first things people see, but it also has a practical job to do. It needs to identify your business clearly and work reliably wherever you use it – from a tiny social media profile image to business stationery, clothing, signage and large-format print.
How does the logo design process work?

Every project starts with my design brief, which helps me understand your business, ideas and preferences. I’ll then create the initial concepts included within your chosen package before working directly with you through the revision process until the final design is agreed.

Will you use templates or clipart in your designs?

No. For my bespoke logo design packages, original concepts are professionally created around your individual business and brief rather than relying on generic templates or clipart. If you already have an AI-generated concept, Canva design or existing logo you’d like me to work from, I also offer specialist AI refinement, repair and refresh packages.
How many logo concepts will I receive?

The number of initial concepts depends on the package selected, with some packages working slightly differently where I’m recreating or refining existing artwork. I’ll then work closely with you through the revision process until we refine the final design.
How much does professional logo design cost?

The cost depends on the type of logo you need and the amount of creative input involved. I offer several packages for different requirements, including new logo design, illustration, redesign, repair, refresh and AI logo refinement.

What kind of files will I receive?

Once your final logo has been approved, I’ll provide everything you need for both print and digital use. This includes AI, EPS, PDF, SVG, JPEG and PNG formats, together with a square social media profile image and icon version where appropriate. You’ll also receive a Logo Design Guide and File Type Guide, so you’ll know which files to use for different applications.
Will you supply the fonts used in my logo?

I’ll include the font names and details in your Logo Design Guide. Where a font is freely available and can be redistributed, I may also supply the font file. Commercial or subscription fonts may need to be licensed separately by you.
Will I receive different versions of my logo?

Your main logo will be supplied in the standard print and digital file formats included with your package. Where it makes sense for the design, I may also supply useful variations such as an icon version or alternative layout, but these aren’t automatically included with every project.
Will I own the copyright of the final logo design?

Yes, for an original logo created by Design FX Studio. Once the project is complete, you’ll receive full ownership rights to your final approved logo design. I’ll also provide all the relevant files so you have everything you need for future printing, marketing and reproduction.

Do you provide after-sales support?

Absolutely! Once we complete the logo design process, I’m still here to assist you with any aftercare needs, such as using your files, coordinating with printers or selecting appropriate marketing materials. Plus, I maintain backups of all designs, so should you ever lose your files, just drop me a message and I’ll resend them promptly.
Can you also design my website, business cards and marketing materials?

Absolutely – and this is often where the fun really begins! Logo design is usually just the starting point. Once your branding has been created, I can help roll it out across business cards, stationery, brochures, websites, social media graphics, exhibition materials and professional print, helping keep everything looking consistent as your business grows.
