Many business owners assume that once a website has been built, it can simply be left alone.

Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case.

WordPress websites rely on themes, plugins and software that require regular updates. These can include important security fixes, compatibility improvements and bug fixes. If websites aren’t maintained correctly, they can become vulnerable to attacks, develop compatibility issues or simply stop working properly.

Keeping everything maintained, monitored and backed up helps reduce the risk of security issues and unexpected problems — while providing an important recovery route if something does go wrong.

Essential website hosting & care to suit your website.

Every new WordPress website includes Essential DFX Website Care as standard, providing the hosting, backups and security monitoring needed to keep your website properly protected.

WordPress also needs ongoing maintenance to keep its core software and plugins up to date. If you remain on Essential Website Care, I’ll take care of this every six months for an additional fee. Alternatively, for more regular maintenance and technical support, you can move onto one of my fully managed Website Care plans.

Critical security or vulnerability updates may be carried out sooner where necessary. Any additional investigation, malware removal, repair or recovery work outside routine maintenance is charged separately.

For brochure and small WordPress websites (up to 10 pages) that need ongoing managed maintenance and support.

Includes Essential DFX Website Care, plus:

  • What is DFX Website Care?

    DFX Website Care provides the hosting, backups, monitoring and ongoing protection needed for WordPress websites hosted by Design FX Studio.

    Essential DFX Website Care is included as standard with every new website I host, with ongoing WordPress maintenance carried out every six months for an additional fee. Alternatively, my fully managed Website Care plans include more regular WordPress maintenance, technical support, reporting and additional ongoing care within the monthly fee.

  • Which DFX Website Care Plan do I need?

    Essential DFX Website Care is the starting point for every new WordPress website I host, with the cost based on the size and complexity of the website.

    If you’d prefer ongoing managed WordPress maintenance and technical support, Small Website Care is designed for most brochure and small business websites, while Large Website Care is intended for larger, eCommerce or more demanding websites.

    If you’re unsure, I’ll explain the options and recommend the most appropriate level for your website.

  • Why does a larger website cost more?

    Larger websites naturally require more time and resources to maintain. With more content, functionality, plugins or eCommerce features, there is more to monitor and check when updates are carried out — and potentially more to investigate or restore if something goes wrong.

    The price simply reflects the additional hosting resources, maintenance time and technical support involved.

  • What happens if my website grows beyond 10 pages?

    If your website expands significantly, gains additional functionality or becomes more complex over time, I may recommend moving it to a different level of Website Care to make sure sufficient hosting resources, maintenance time and support are available.

    I’ll always discuss this with you first and explain any change in cost before it takes effect.

  • Does DFX Website Care guarantee my website won't be hacked?

    Unfortunately, no website can be guaranteed completely immune from security threats. Website Care is designed to reduce the risks through regular updates, monitoring and backups, while ensuring there is a recovery plan in place if something does go wrong.

  • What happens if my website is compromised?

    If your website is compromised or a security issue is detected, I’ll act quickly to assess the situation and take any immediate steps necessary to help protect the website and hosting environment.

    Depending on the issue, this may include temporarily taking the website offline, restoring a clean backup, updating WordPress or plugins, changing passwords or investigating the source of the problem.

    Where additional malware removal, repair, recovery or investigation is required outside the maintenance included with your plan, this work will be charged separately and discussed with you wherever possible before work begins.

  • What happens if my website goes down?

    Your website is monitored 24/7 for uptime. If unexpected downtime is detected, I’ll investigate the cause and take appropriate action where required to help get the website running again.

  • Are plugin licences included?

    Updates to standard plugins are included. Where a premium plugin requires its own paid licence or subscription to receive updates, that licence is charged separately unless already included as part of your website.

  • Is my domain name included?

    One .co.uk domain renewal every two years is included with Small and Large Website Care where the domain is managed by Design FX Studio. Other domain extensions, additional domains and domain renewals provided with Essential Website Care are charged separately.

  • Can you make changes to my website for me?

    Yes. Minor technical website changes can be covered by the support time included with your managed Website Care plan — up to 30 minutes per month with Small Website Care and 60 minutes with Large Website Care.

    Content updates, new pages, additional functionality or development work can be handled through DFX Website Support or quoted separately, depending on what’s required.

  • Does unused technical support time roll over?

    No. Included website technical support time resets each month and cannot be carried over or accumulated.

  • Can I pay annually?

    Website Care can be paid monthly by standing order or annually. Essential Website Care is normally invoiced annually, although monthly payment may be available for larger websites where appropriate.

  • Can I cancel at any time?

    Monthly Website Care operates on a 30-day rolling agreement. Annual plans are paid in advance for the agreed 12-month period.

Had a great experience with DesignFX

After using AI to brainstorm a few ideas myself, I sent my thinking to Natalie. She took the time to fully understand the business, my market and customer base. She also listened to my early ideas on the type of illustrated logo I was looking for.

What Natalie created exemplified the kind of image I was going for. She had really taken onboard everything I'd said but also had the creative confidence to offer alternatives to some of my more undefined ideas to produce something better than I had hoped for.

If you're looking for a logo that covers the basics then AI can often give you what you need. But if your brand really matters to you, and you're looking for something that reflects you and the image you want to present, then it really pays off to go with a creative designer.
